NAK Engineering, Inc. has directed and participated in several large Nordberg® Engine overhauls and power plant reconstruction projects over the recent past. Several of the higher profile projects include:

 

NASANASA Stennis Space Center.  This is a current project jointly undertaken with Lockheed Corp. (LMSO) and NAK-Nordberg®. This project has spanned over three years.  This project entails the complete overhaul of ten FS13.5 V Nordberg Engines used as pumping units to cool launch pads during the test firing of NASA rocket engines.

 

Duke Energy

 

Duke Energy Company NAK supplied all the parts and technical supports in the complete Overhaul Project of the four FS13.5 V Emergency Diesel Generators (EDG’s) at the McGuire Nuclear Station in North Carolina. This project spanned over 2 years and covered the replacement of virtually all the wearing parts in these four units.  Every part supplied was done so under our 10CFR50 Appendix B Quality Assurance Program, for the supply of Nuclear Safety Related Parts to United States Nuclear Facilities

 

Brunswick Nuclear ProjectCarolina Power & Light (Progress Energy) Brunswick Nuclear Project.  NAK Engineering, Inc. has been the sole supplier of Nordberg® Nuclear Safety Related Parts and Technical Support since 1990.  NAK was a founding member and the catalyst for NDOG (Nordberg Diesel Owners Group) with both CP&L and Duke Energy Corporation.

 

Glomar Explorer

 

Global Marine and Drilling (The Glomar Exporer).  This project spanned over a year and all five Nordberg Engines were completely rebuilt by NAK-Nordberg®.  We supplied both the parts and technical personnel who were on board 24 hours a day while this project proceeded. The Glomar Explorer is one of the deepest undersea oil exploration drilling ships in the world today.

 

USAFUnited States Air Force. NAK-Nordberg® has been the supplier of Genuine Nordberg Engine Parts for several critical remote USAF sites around the world for many years. These sites must have reliable stable power and NAK-Nordberg® is proud to be an integral part of the support of these critical installations.

 

 

USIA (United States Information Agency, Voice of America) .NAK-Nordberg® has for many years supplied Nordberg Parts, service and technical support to this critical site in Greece.  The USIA operates both the Two Cycle (TS) and Four Cycle (FS) Nordberg® Models for the power requirements of these remote sites..
